Why We’re Doing This
TAILS FC started with a simple idea - Pets need to be involved in the things we like.
But we also want to do something extra to help more cats and dogs.
That’s why we’re taking on the Great North Run.
Not just as a challenge… but to support a cause that matters... Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter.
The Plan
Training is underway.
Early mornings, long runs, and a lot of miles ahead.
Some days have been easier than others. Some make us question every life choice that got us here.
Since mid February, couch 25K has been the go to plan. Highly recommended to get yourself moving in the first place.
Now complete, The next step is to be more consistent, and get more miles in the paws.
The goal is simple:
- Get our paws to the start line
- Get our noses over the finish line
- Raise as much as possible along the way
Join In
You don’t need to run a half marathon to be part of this.
You can:
- Walk your dog a bit further this week
- Get active with your pet
- Share your progress
We’ll be posting updates as we go on socials:
- Training progress
- Tips
- The good days (and the tough ones)
Supporting the Cause
We’ll also be sharing more details on the charity and how to support us.
Every bit helps — whether it’s a donation, a share, or just following the journey.
Match Day Energy, Finish Line Mentality
Training for something like this isn’t that different from football:
- Consistency matters
- Small improvements add up
- You keep going, even when it’s tough
And on the day, it’s all about showing up.
Follow the Journey
We’ll be documenting everything:
- Training runs
- Progress (and set-backs)
- Race day itself
So if you fancy following along - or even joining in - keep an eye out.
TAILS FC - One paw in front of the other.
